There was a birthday girl this week

October 15th marked Maria's first birthday!! So exciting!! We have been celebrating a little for the past week or so. Maria's Grandma and Grandpa came up the week before, Great Grandma and Great Grandpa H.'s card came in the mail a couple of days before, we opened Great Oma S.'s present and card the day before, on her birthday she was sung Happy Birthday to at Coffee break, on skype by Grandma and again by her cousins Naomi and Petra, and sung again to at her swimming lessons! She seemed to enjoy the attention and played shy when sung to. Maria also got a special package in the mail right on her birthday from Naomi and Petra! The next day we celebrated again, daddy was home and we gave her her present, a pink shopping cart! She loves it, not as much as her farm though.... that afternoon Lin and Juhee came over and ate cupcakes.

Now we are back to routine, whatever that is! Today I am enjoying a quiet day just me. Martin is gone to work and Maria has gone to spend the day at close friends' house, Jessica and Randy and the girls.

Well time to go, I must nap, and then do some re-organizing and cleaning in preparation for the new baby.
