Scenerio: Captain Martin Geertsema, delayed with flights all day on Feb.13th due to weather, calls Emily Geertsema at work at 7:54pm Feb.13th to let her know he may be coming home tonight instead of overnighting in St.John, NB. 10pm comes around and Emily heads to bed with the phone, falls asleep until.....
1:04am, the phone rings, "honey I'm coming home, I'm getting a ride, please leave the door unlocked" "okay"
So my valentine came home to me and we had a very nice day. Martin and I got to sleep in, then we went to Cora's for brunch. Then we browsed the Bedford Place Mall. Martin headed off to work for 3pm and now he is on his way home.
What made this day such a sweet valentine's day was the fact that none of this was expected or planned. Just shows, that the unexpected can be most sweet!
