This story begins in an age long ago, (relatively speaking). It was the age of The End of High School, the time of the Slackers was just beginning. A call was put out to Martin of Far-Away in Vancouver, that Brian the Long-haired and Steve, operator of Glausmobile were to conduct an Adventure of Preposterous Magnitude, the Driving to Vancouver -- the Long Way.
Martin, being of an adventurous spirit himself, desired to accompany the two adventurers to his new found homeland, and journeyed to meet them via the Fast Way.
Now being short of funds, Martin did work a little, to earn coins to pay for the upcoming Adventure, but did also put much hope in the transaction of the sale of his Fathers old Workvan to Daniel of Pascal, the guitarist. Many a night was spent working on a cold winter's floor, replacing the bearings in the engine, to make it run well, and thus to create a mighty profit.
Said profit may have been made, if except for the fact that when Martin was finished, he forgot to put the Oil Cap back on, and when test driving the Workvan, the engine seized up. The Workvan was sold for a paltry $100 to the local scrapyard, and Martin quickly went back to work in the Painting Field to ensure his position on the Adventure of Preposterous Magnitude.
Thus begins the Trip of There and Back Again, one cold winters day in January, 1995
