Martin and I took the girls downtown Halifax to try to get a glimpse of the Queen.
And A glimpse is what I got!
We went to view the fleet review done by the Queen, which was for the Centennial Celebrations
You can see the sailors standing at attention, and the fighter planes and the ships. I don't know which ship is which...

Well, I can now say, I've seen the Queen in person. We were hoping for a more real experience but she is the Queen after all.

by the looks of your queen driving off pictures, you were just on the other side of the car from us. In fact Andrew's head is probably just behind the guy with white hair!
ReplyDeleteWe managed to watch her walk down the stairs off the boat and then the car drive away too.
We were disappointed that the snowbirds were cancelled, but when were they not cancelled.... anyways lots of fun to see the ships. Andrew and Abby went on the dutch supply ship and had a great time and got some great souvenirs :)

As I sat and watched the Queen on tv, I thought that maybe I should have taken the girls downtown to get a live glimpse. But then again, maybe all we would have seen was a hat and glove! At least you can say you went to see the Queen. I can't!
