I am glad to say that at 7:15 this evening I finally took the last tools out of the 'project house'. The floors and windows have been cleaned, new stove put in, little touch-ups done, and keys given to the renters. It's been a long haul getting this house gutted, rebuilt and finished! It's kinda strange actually getting everything done to the point that there isn't anything else to do, especially when considering my heritage. Finishing is almost a historical moment in the Geertsema family. Here are some pictures of the insanity. I tried to keep pictures with the same angle.
The old kitchen and upper back entrance was re-purposed as:

the master bedroom and walk-in closet.

This bedroom was
gutted to become:
this kitchen
Living room:

1/2 way there!

This 'bedroom' opened up to become:
this and then:

finally, the top of the new stairs.
Upstairs Bathroom:

different angle (looking at the tub in the previous picture)
New bath, (same angle as the first picture.)
This mouldy and out-dated room became:
this and....
this room.
This room ...
became a second bathroom (different angle)
So, like I said, it's mostly done. Still have a lot to do outside! Hopefully it won't take another 7 months!
I am proud of you! Enjoy the rewards of a completed task, but don't stop there! Do finish up the rest (in both houses)sooner rather than later. Speaking from experience, some people don't even see the unfinished after a while....

WOW! I saw this house in the beginning, and I am AMAZED!!!! Totally amazed! It looks beautiful to say the least. you have truly seen a diamond in the rough, no maybe more like you saw a piece of coal and have turned it into a diamond. I am impressed.
